The Nurses Professional Association of New Zealand (NPANZ) is a registered Trade Union and professional nurses association run by nurses for nurses, providing professional indemnity insurance (PII) for nurses, carers and other healthcare workers. 

We keep our fees lower than other Unions and focus on achieving meaningful outcomes for our members. We provide special rates for part-time workers earning under $26,000/$36,000 and provide cover for those who are self-employed.  Currently, and as per the IRD, self employed nurses and carers can claim back the cost of professional fees against their self-employed income. 

We recommend every nurse or carer has indemnity insurance and medico-legal suppprt in place should legal support or representation before Nursing Council or the Health and Disability Commission be needed. It only takes one complaint or concern from a client - that's when we are able to help!
